Private Health Sector Project (PHSP)

CELEBRATING 5 YEARS

About the Private Health Sector Project in Ethiopia

The goal of the Private Health Sector Project is to contribute to the reduction of the burden of public health diseases in Ethiopia. PHSP supports the private health sector to expand the availability of high-quality health services and strengthens their capacity to take a prominent role in the prevention and treatment of family planning, reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health, HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis in Ethiopia. PHSP works in eight regions and two city administrations–Oromia, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambella, SNNP, Tigray, Afar, Dire Dawa, Harari, and Addis Ababa.

The project brief provides an overview of the project’s achievements over the past five years and the timeline below describes USAID’s support to the private health sector between 2004 through 2020.
